Research

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Earth and Climate Sciences at Tufts University, working with Dr. Athena Eyster on exploring the history and evolution of Earth. In my current research, I am measuring paleomagnetic and magnetostratigraphic data to study the Great Oxidation Event ~2.4 billion years ago. In addition, I am using numerical simulations of Earth’s geodynamo and global mantle convection to bring together the scientific fields of paleomagnetism, mantle dynamics, and geodynamo modelling. I am also trying to find points in Earth’s past where the geomagnetic field behaved significantly different from the present-day field by studying small and large anomalies in magnetic field strength that are preserved in archaeological materials and the geological record.
